Canada Day Tournament - Gameday Information

GENERAL INFORMATION

Kindly bear in mind that the essence of this event, irrespective of skill level, is to enjoy the experience and engage in friendly competition with other teams of comparable ability. While we acknowledge the desire to achieve victory, it is important that all teams demonstrate respect towards their opponents and the match officials throughout the tournament.

Please note that teams should be prepared to play their initial game as early as 8:00 AM on July 1st - 202, with the final game scheduled for 4:30 PM on July 3 - 202. We advise considering these timings when making your travel arrangements. Although requests will be taken into consideration, we cannot guarantee accommodation of specific scheduling preferences.

 

TEAM CHECK-IN

Teams are required to check in at the registration tent between 5pm - 7pm Friday June 30th - 202. Located beside Field 1 at 435 Hartman Rd, Kelowna, BC V1X 2M9. Rutland Field Location

Players are NOT required to check in.

Every team is required to designate a contact person who will serve as the main point of communication throughout the weekend. Please provide the contact person's email address and phone number, which will be utilized in case we need to get in touch with your team.

As part of the registration check in process teams must submit the following:

  • Travel permit from Provincial or State Association (non-BC teams)
  • A current roster (u14 and over teams)

 

ROSTERS

Teams may use supplementary players (as per our policies)

The maximum roster sizes are:

U11 - U12 = 14 Players

U14 - U16 = 18 Players

All players must be currently registered with their Provincial or State Association.

ID cards or player passes are not required; however, proof of age of a player may be requested at any time at check in or by the referee or a member of Rutland Youth Soccer Association.

 

GAMES

Matches are played in accordance with FIFA Laws 

U11 - U12 will play 2 X 30 minutes (60 minute games) - Small Sided Rules

U14 - U16 will paly 2 X 35 minutes (70 minutes games) - BC Soccer Rules

All games will have a 5 minute half time.

All games must start on time to maintain tournament schedule. 

All games for this tournaments age groups can end in a tie.

3-4 Games per Team

Games will be played on Saturday July 1st-202, Sunday July 2nd-202, and Monday July 3rd-202.

No Shows & Forefits

A team will have a five (5) minute grace period after the scheduled kick-off time before the match is awarded to their opponent.

 

Points & Scoring for U14-U16

3 points for a win

1 point for a tie

0 points for a loss

1 point per goal scored (maximum of 3 per game)

2 points for a shutout

Warm Up 

Warm Up fields will be available on Friday June 29th -202, upon request. Email tournaments@rutlandyouthsoccer.ca

There will be limited time before game times for warm up, please be respectful of active games.

 

Washroom Facilities

Both fields have washroom facilities as well as portable toilets.

 

Parking

Due to the high volume of participants, the sports fields are expected to be quite busy throughout the entire tournament. It is advised to allocate sufficient time for travel and parking arrangements.

Professional first aid attendants will be on site.
